Christie Lake

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My buddy lives on that lake...I will ask him if he knows where to go and get back to you.

As a sidenote did you know the 1st Friday the 13th was filmed on Christie Lake ( They called it Crystal Lake ) and they used the boy's and girl's camp at the end for their camp. Also noted at the end of filming they sunk a replica mask into one of the deeper parts of the lake

Bin a while since I have been up there.
Had some fun at the back end of the lake in the pads with some largemouth (outflowing part of the tay I think). Quite a few fish but all between 1.5 and 2 lbs.

Saw a few walleye swimming along in 4-5 ft of water on a 25 degree day up the river a bit just under the boat.

Also managed a few good Smallies of one point in the lake...looks quite strange. Almost like man made rip rap. Giant boulders that look kind of ike an avalanche. Drops of pretty quick there and that is here I caught my biggest smallie (around 4lbs).

pappy wrote:Wow, ive spent almost every weekend both summer and winter up on Christey lake and didnt know that that movie was filmed there...my buddies cottage is right beside the boys and girls camp too.....as far as fishing goes, there is NO walleye in this lake  :D ...in all honesty if you hit the right spots you should be able to hammer them....the lake can produce lots of numbers and great size walleye....well be up there that weekend, listen for neil young music and look for a pontoon boat and dont hesitate to say hello!
Hi There! Do you know if anyone rents cottages up at Christie Lake? I was thinking of booking a trip there this summer...

Was Friday the 13th really filmed here? When I look it up all I find is them saying it was filmed in Blairstown, NJ. It would be cool if it was Christie Lake, I'm just not finding and evidence of it.

I seem to remeber hearing this myth/rumour back in the 80's. I never really gave it much thought until now.
Maybe because the name of the lake in the movie "Crystal Lake" got some people confused when said aloud . . . sounds a little like "Christie Lake" . . . just a thought :?

Like you I have a hard time finding any reference to it.....everything points to NJ

Main film was NJ but the scenic shots, camp etc was Christie Lake...Saw some of the shoot myself from my buddies dock. Now no actors etc were there just camera's shooting scenic shots....As for the mask in the lake I asked my buddy and he said someone scuba'd down and retrieved it. Some local who owned a shop there or something.

The family and I stayed at Christie Lake Cottages a few years ago. Great people and always willing to help out. They have some nice pictures of some great fish on the walls. We were there a week and the owners even gave each of my three kids lures with Christie Lake Cottages engraved on them.
We mostly fished from the docks behind the shop as my kids were only 8, 9 and 10 at the time and we caught lots of panfish as well as a few nice smallies.
I'd recommend this rental to anyone.
