Great night...fished a few places and then discovered a sweet little honey hole at the mouth of the Mississippi R. Caught 5 nice eyes (16-22in), 3 pike, 3 dandy smallies, 4 perch worth mentioning and scads more that weren't in 2 hours. All were released. It was non-stop until we ran out of minnows (definitely the preferred method tonight) so we decided to call it a night as the sky was starting to look a little too wet. The most exiciting thing was the bites were really light - like perch, and usually it was tiny little perch but every so often after you set the hook there'd be a walleye or smallie! Way cool.
We were really shallow about 6ft off an emerging weedbed, bare jigs and minnows worked best - Saskette caught the pike and a nice wally on a flashy silver/orange spoon.
