fishing Long Island Locks

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

fishing Long Island Locks

Post by fishing mrs. »

I am new on Fish-Hawk. My husband has been on a few years. He did not feel well today and since I had off from work I decided to check out the perch fishing at the locks. Our dog "Joey" loves to go along to watch and kiss the fish :D

I started at the top ,but the fish biting there were not getting hooked; probably too small.

So we went below the locks and found 2 fishermen catching perch and also "fall fish" as one fisherman had been told these little silver fish are called. Would there be another name- they look like mooneye?

I did not get any pictures of them- only a few of the perch and our dog. It is hard to catch fish and take pictures at the same time. "Joey does not know how to use the camera- yet :D

It was a fun day- I wish Denis could have come along

There is such a thing as fallfish. They look like a chub kind of with bigger scales.
