I was wondering how long it was going to be before I'd see the first POACHERS of the year hittin' the river .....
I was enjoying a frosty pint out on the deck last night while BBQ'in and all of a sudden I hear voices out on the river ......so I grab my binocs and see these 2 SOB's trolling.... THERE"S NOTHING more in this world that I HATE-----> POACHERS!!!!!!!!!.......I had to brighten up the picture because it was almost dark, but you can see the net sitting upright in the back of the boat....they were trolling in a figure 8 pattern in front of the creek!!!....I'll be watching a bit more closely from here on in!!!....the picture isn't that clear because I had to use the 13X digital zoom, but it's clear enough to see these scum!!

Already have Terry .....if it wasn't for the fact that I didn't want to eat charred BBQ chicken, I would have walked down to the fire lane to get the plate number of the vehicle..... I talked to a neighbour this morning who lives closer to that fire lane and he said if he see's this occuring again, he will call MNR and then block the lane with his truck while waiting for MNR to show up ....he's worse than I am when it comes to this illegal crap !!!

You're right Pints....I should have called them instead...The Ottawa Police have been a LOT MORE visible out here lately and would have arrived on the spot in no time!!
I dont know if I would waste my time with ottawa police . they would be concerned if they had their seats belts on while driving there or if they maybe didnt come to a full stop at a stop sign. dont waste your dime.

Not sure I agree with that Sniper...I had a visit out on the ice from 2 Ottawa cops on sleds this winter and I was asked to show my fishing license to them...

If that is the concern tell the cops you think you can see them drinking on the water. They'll get there fast.
Or just maybe they were not doing anything wrong at all.
I have already been out in my boat this year, playing around with my new finder and marking waypoints and I had my net in the boat. I am not sure this constitutes poaching.
Maybe this guy was doing the same thing, seaching for structure to mark on his GPS and nothing more.
