End in sight!

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Yeah, but you gotta admit this is such a sweet spot for walleye. Who thought a 20lb would ever been caught in such a small man-made pond!

I agree with that as well as other statements made in this thread. This site has really gone downhill to the point I do not partcipate during the winter months anymore, as I have no intrest or time for the bashing, namecalling, and other BS that goes on here when people have nothing better to do. One example that really ticks me off is when I post a report w/ pics and then get in nasty PMs for not bluring out the backgroud or naming the body of water that is common already knowledge anyway. People...the lakes and rivers within an hour of Ottawa area are by no means a secret...If somebody comes on the site and askes for specfic lakes and location on their first post in the form of a one liner with no introduction, or without contributing anything themselves...just ignore them, or explain politely how things work around here ( ya gotta give a little to get a little)... but there is nothing to gain by bashing or mocking them in public.

Its to the point I won't even wear my fishhawk hat out in public anymore, as I had more negative comments form that hat last season then positive.

I'm not saying that the site is all bad or anything like that, I have learnt to take it for what it is. I have meet many great fishing guys on the site, and I enjoy reading peoples fishing stories, and there are some genuinely nice ppl on the site. Its just too bad that a few can wreck things for the rest of the fishers that want to share stories and information without getting flammed by the same jerks all the time....I think Fishhawk should clean house of some of its more problematic members, I dont think what FH has become is what Bobber and FishHawk invisioned in the begining.

And that is helpful how?????

You keep coming back fo fish-Hawk, if everybody would stop shopping at the businesses that sponsor F-H then they would stop sponsoring F-H and you would have to go somewhere else!!!

What I don't understand is that if I don't like something I stay away??????

Nobody is forcing anybody to keep coming back. If somebody doesn't like F-H all they have to do is stop coming here. Some have tried to stay away but the F-H allure keeps bringing them back.

So if you like it here pull up a chair and if you don't we'll talk to you in a month or so!!!!!

Wallyboss,

Not sure who that is directed to.
But for the record I never stated I did not like F-H.
I stated I did not like the bickering, fighting etc on F-H.

I think its fair to state that a lot of folk don't like it.
Nothing worse than posting what you think is an achievement, or asking advice and getting your head ripped off.....

My first post I quoted the person and asked him a question.

My second post is not directed at anybody in particular. That is why I used "anybody and somebody in my post"

The end is never near. I fish twelve months a year. The fishing friends I have are new and old(not in years  ) Many of them don't even care about the internet and are accomplished anglers. There are alot of seasonal/recreational anglers here that rarely fish or report or have a sense of humour.....I'm good with that. To each his own. I ignore many here for that exact reason.

Bring on the ice!

Add those who take themselves too seriously as well Grant....

I still just shake my heads when I hear guys say I can't wait for the season to open....there is always something open fellas....pike/walleye opener means absolutely nothing to me....

Visiting site for many years now.....it hasn't changed much.....it is what it is....and as Fishawk once said..."Refunds are available upon request....oh...wait a minute, that's right"....

how is it helpful...dont really know how to answer that question....but there is some real azzwioes on here that ruin it for the rest...if there wasnt a fish hawk i wouldnt care.....north americans r heavy consumers so there will always be something like a FH...and there is freedom of speech so there will always be crazys...but until the mods calm down the guys that attack ppl on here and bait ppl to get them upset....basically the ppl who act like children i wont shop at any sponsors on here....i have even invited ppl to here and they were disgusted with ppl like BA, JW and others like them....i was so excited about the ottawa river clean up that jocco (jocco u seem like the salt of the earth people, my hats of to u bud) is organizing, so exited i wanted to help in everyway i could, wanted to get my kids involved, supply anything that was needed basically go the extra mile and be real enthusiastic but it was ruined by the crazies on here...for me anyways....i would not let these idiots near my children...but that is eneough of a rant for me

FH is great cuz there is way more great ppl here then crazies

went to lac beauchamp today...3 ppl fishin plus me and 2 of my kids....got there saw an old man in a chair fishin barbut and ask him wheres the fish...he told me everything i needed to know....now thats a fisherman...seees i father with his kids and lends the helping hand with a smile....no rainbow...tried for almost 2hrs...switched to barbut layin a worm on bottom and nailed a mess of them...kids had a blast

there was even 2 ppl swimming

I belong to a site much like this one back home in California. The same kind of issues come up there. Being new there was easier than being new here because I had something to offer as far as places to go and methods to use. Unfortunately that is not the case for me here. It is trial and error for me since the fishing here is very different. I taught myself how to fish growing up, nobody in my family really fished at all then. So with my intro I did ask a question. I got some assistance which was great. I read almost every post daily, and do not comment. The responses I have seen when questions were asked have not always kind. There always seems to be clicks of people (and rightly so because they have become friends) on sites like these that are not too kind if you comment before you put up several reports. It's too hard to comment and not have a question or two and not seem like you are trying to find out everyone's secrets. Unfortunately I also received a lot of backlash when I told the site back home I am a lesbian. Hard to avoid keeping that a secret since my wife also loves to fish and we always take pictures. Yes, I am sorry I stole one of your women...lol. Now as I have swiped this thread just a little bit, I am just here to learn what I can and will keep questions to myself as much as possible. Honestly it is so different in ways it is like learning to fish all over again.

Thanks for sharing Fishinbutch,

But I can assure you that on here homophobia IS NOT tolerated and it WOULD be a one way ticket off of here.

Glad to hear you guys like to fish! Right on!
