camp site

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

camp site

Post by Fishfinder »

Hello everyone I am looking for a campsite for both myself and my brother in-law to put a trailer and boat so we can fish. Anyone know somewhere good and fairly close to Ottawa? (within a couple hours) :?:

check out Murphy's Point Provincial. Great docking right there and access to the Big Rideau at the deepest part(if you want to fish for lake trout). It's about 1/2 hr-45 mins out of Smith's Falls. Cheers, Fishtraks.

Theres a ton

Thompsons Black Rock...http://www.blackrockpark.ca/home.htm
on Clayton;

Some of the resorts on White Lake might as well, but they're usually booked up for the season: Bayview, Cedar Cove, Pickerel Bay...

Morning Mist on the Upper O at Stonecliffe (and probably several others up that way)

Sunny Hill on Bark Lake...http://www.sunnyhillresort.com/

Opeongo on Lake Clear...http://www.omresort.ca/camp.htm

There's the provincial parks: Fitzroy, Driftwood, Bonnechere, Silver Lake, Sharbot Lake....et al

I believe Sand Lake in Westport and also Pike Lake on the way out of Westport towards Perth both have trailer parks / campgrounds as well as the fish species you are seeking.

Added benefits are the close proximities to both Westport and Perth, and also the multitude of other lakes a stone's throw from either Sand or Pike Lakes.
