My first muskie ever

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

My first muskie ever

Post by slushpuppy »

Well! Just when I said I wanted to catch one of those!

Went to Long Island Locks again last night (very windy!!), targeting walleye like we caught last week. Third cast got a bite. It jumped out of the water. I said to Bowzog, if that's a d@*# bass, it's a big one! As I got it closer, Bowzog yells it's a big pike..... No, it's a muskie!

Sure 'nuff, here it is.

Promptly returned it to the water to grow bigger and bigger.

If the big ones jump like that when you catch them, I'm hooked :!:

We stayed in the area until it got dark. No other bites at all. So that means, I beat Bowzog again!! :P

congrat's (SP) There's nothing like your first muskie, except your 2nd bigger one! Good luck, and If you don't let (Bow zog) win once in a while, he might loose interest or even worse try not to bring you along! ( By the look on your face I don't think you will let that happen). :)

PS: better luck next time Bowzog

:D Nothing like the feeling of your first muskie.. I still remember a cold November day when fish-hawk guided me to my first. Now like the others its a matter of how big will the next one be..
