Anyone know if there are any contour maps available for Poission Blanc? I saw this lake was included in some discussion on lake maps that were in the works. Is there anything that I might be able to get my hands on soon? Since my trip is in less than a month.
Keep it coming guys, I am really enjoying this site.
I'd like to say "Thanks" to everyone who has posted.

Poisson Blanc
I camped on an island on O`hara lake about five years ago. I fished where the lake narrows on the side with the large bolders, and found quite a few willing takers. The bass hit just about anything I threw at them. We had little success in poisson blanc itself. I have always intended to return.

If you have a Fishfinder/GPS you can get the Navionics HotMaps for Canada.....I believe Poisson Blanc is on it.caribou_sniper wrote:Anyone know if there are any contour maps available for Poission Blanc? Your right Maple, it is privite property. Both my aunts farm and cousins house in Poltimore have a creek(Same creek) with brook trout in it in their backyards! No luck needed
I caught four or five trout from the creek three years back and my aunt had sent me a photo of a few brook trout my cousins caught just last spring. You have to weed out the sucker fish but the trout are still there that's for sure. This creek is deep and very suitable for trout. If you have fished it before you should know which one I am talking about.

I think it's pretty obvious where the smallies hang.... I have talked to a few folks that have cottages and they were yappin about Eye's from the dock yet I haven't heard one thing about them on here with a bunch of hardcore anglers... something's fishy here
Anyone care to comment about them or where they like to hang at this time of year??? Not specific location of course just a generalization... Shoot me a pm if ya want

Hi caribou_sniper
You have to portage into Lake O'Hara, it's only a couple of minutes. Also where the entrance is to Lake O'Hara you can fish all along the mainland and the west side of Mystery Island. Ton's of Splake and Grey's at 10' to 20' this time of year. Also the municipality(MNR) has designated the lake a regional park, any camping on the lake requires a permit now, haven't got a clue as to where to pick up the permits, apparently they will be checking, which remains to be seen. @Dave: That is great intel, thank you very much.
Unfortunately everyone, I have be dealt a death blow. I went to open my camp this past weekend and was denied entrance into Canada. No and if or buts about it; I have to pursue the matter with the Ministry. I am more than a little upset by this given the fact that I have been traveling to Canada for 44 years, I am a property owner, I have been managing hunting and fishing excursions bringing untold thousands of dollars into the country through tourism for the last 10 years, and I the only offense I ever had in Canada during that entire time was one speeding ticket for which I properly paid the fine.
The circumstances barring my admission into the country occurred outside of Canada and have been resolved to the satisfaction of everyone it seems but the unrelated Canadian Immigration Ministry.
So, my short term vacation plans are done and my Caribou hunt this fall is in jeapardy. I do not have a good feeling about paying for that hunt to only be still not allowed in the country come fall.
No camping/fishing week with my brother and buddy.
No summer vacation with my kids at camp.
No fall Caribou hunt.
I hate to say it, but that alone is many thousands of dollars in lost revenue to my local camp community and to my hunting outfitter. And it is very likely since I manage all of these excursions that the remainder of my parties will not go on these excursions without me. I question the rational of this sort of Immigration system.
Please forgive my rant, but I am just a tad upset.

Ahh man that's a big drag . It's so bad nowadays , you can get turned around at the border either way for something that happened 30 years ago . Buddy of mine was arrested entering the US on a buisness trip because he had a record from when he was 18 ? Cost him thousands to get it fixed up so he could travel to the states . The new world we live in is to thank I guess ? Very sorry to hear about your hassles .
