Hi all, long time lurker here. Finally decided to take the plunge and register lol. I mainly fish lake simcoe and wellers bay (quinte area) and look forward to posting fishing reports. This summer/spring i'd like to hit a remote drive in camp for walleye and pike. I've searched the internet endlessly and there are a ton of places that seem as though they have killer fishing, but who really knows. So if anyone has any insight on affordable drive to lodges with great fishing i'd love to hear back. Thanks in advance.
ps. i'm willing to drive up to 8 hours or so from barrie.

From Barrie you should be able to reach many spots.....
I am sure you will get all kinds of suggestions here, but just remeber that they are all opinions, you also have to consider that most people will keep their "special" place a secret.
My suggestion?:
Live by one of my favorite saying ...... ALL GOOD ROADS LEAD TO POOR FISHING .... that being said, grap a map, find some bad/poor roads, find a fishing lodge there and you should have a good drive-to lodge.

From what I hear, points north of Sudbury.. if the stories are true... you cant fall into a puddle without ending up with a 20lb pike or a 10lb walleye in your pocket when you get out.
This is one lodge I have read good things about and have had my eye on for some time; http://www.biscotasinglodge.com/
8 hours north of T.O. (Not certain exactly where Barrie is...)

Thanks cprince, reasonable prices to boot. i'll definatly look into that a little more. http://www.duenorth.net/kenogaming/fishing.html i also have my eye on this place. 11 miles long only a logging road to access it and the only lodge on the lake. only 135 for the weekend or 220 for 3 nights with boat, bait and meals included.

Hey there
If you do a search on Lady Evelyn Lake I think I have two reports on it for two different lodges - from Toronto area its about a 6 hour drive - drive to a boat launch and then the outfitter puts you over a dam and into the lake
Love it there
Here are the two camps"

My first trip this year is going to be to Island 10 =)
I stayed at garden island lodge (http://www.garden-island.com) last year ( and thought I would try a new one.
There is also this one I considered: http://www.redpinelodge.com/
