What line is suggested

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I keep seeing 10lb test in this thread...10lb mono has a diameter of .0134". It is all about diameter when it comes to trolling. The thiner the line the less the water resistance and the better the dive curve in the water.

Note many of the modern day co-polymer lines like P-Line Premium CX have a stronger breaking strength than the monofilament lines of the past. Therefore you can now run 12 to 15 pound test line that has the same diameter as 10lb mono lines. This gives you increased breaking strength, increased abrasion resistance and in most cases thin limp line that comes off the spool smoothly like regular mono.

Also I should mention P-Line CXX has an extra coating to make it more abrasive resistant which makes it very thick and is popular with bass anglers as they cast and flip with it so the dive curve is not important.

What would yall use if you added pike to the mix? Last time I went it was 20lb test but I think that is overkill. Looking at using 15 lb this year.
