Back from my trout trip..

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Hey Big-O.

Well it was an interesting trip for sure. Had winds the entire week which certainly didn't help matters but we managed about 60. 25 were Speckles and the rest were Lakers. As we were allowed 10 Speckles each, we fell short of our limit there. We were allowed 2 Lakers each so most of the other 35 were thrown back except for 6 we ate.

This is a picture of the typical Speckle in the 1-lb range.

Now when I say winds, I mean winds. Constant white caps on the lake. We've never experienced that there before. The fishing was still good, just not great...but that's fishing.

Here's a typical chain after fishing the afternoon.

God I wish I knew how to operate my digital camera

My buddy took the large fish honours with a 2-lb Speckle...

We had another 6-8 Speckles in the 1-1/2 pound range. Another wierd thing was no Lakers over 1-1/2 pounds. We're usually good for a dozen in the 2-pound range.

That's Fishing !

Still a great get-away!

WIG, ... good report...

That must have been a blast. 60 fish is pretty decent and they're all eating size. You guys must have had some nice fish fries ...

Great job WIG. Wish my laker trip turned out as well. Which do you prefer to eat, the brookies or the lakers?

Ohh, and you never mentioned where you were fishing, is it a surprise or are we not getting any gifts from ya?

WIG:

:) Beauty fish, sound like you had a dandy trip. Wind may have slowed you down but didn't stop you.

Best regards: Jigs.

Nice fish WIG. I've been wondering how you made out.

Hoe where you fishing the lake? Casting or trolling? Spinner's? Livebait?

Was the wind bad because it made for rough water or that it kept blowing your chair out of the boat?

Hey Moosebunk, easily it's the Brookies for me. Tasty little critters. As for the location, no secret. Mentioned it here frequently actually. Papineau Labelle Park in Quebec. Hoping to go for a full week next year!

Hey Markus, glad to see you made it down for the Catfest! Would've liked to get out to meet you and Pink Lady! Well, the gang too I guess :!:

Simple trolling seems to work best for us with a small gang troll.

Hey don't knock the chair, extremely comfortable way to fish :!:

My folding chair wouldn't fit properly :!:

Hi, WIG -

Finally caught up with your photo's and post regarding your recent trip. Nice looking fish, and sounds as though you caught your share.

That black & white photo is a classic! How DID you manage that one?!

Still have to get my pics up, too. Nothing to brag about, size-wise, for me either!

Don't knock WIG's chair... I have two mini chairs like that for my boys and they're great in the boat! Easily moved about & dry in a snap. :D
