Thanks so much to all the people who read the tread and responded concerning the Quantum Rods and Reels. I went out to Canadian Tire and got the combo for $90.00. It was even better since i saved up all the Canadian Tire money and essentially go it free.
Here is something that has been bothering me for a long time, I always have problems with line twists, you know when the line loops off the reel, or when you lift up the line and the lure or hook is spinning on its axis. What causes that, is it too much line on the spool, to tightly wound, the line, improperly spooling the reel. I wish someone would explain how this happens and how can i alleviate this problem.

It definatly is a problem caused by installed the line on the spool backwards. You have to make sure the line goes on the spool in the same direction as it comes of the other spool. Thank god I don't have to worry about that anymore with the superlines but I still make sure my backing is installed properly.

I'm using pline on my carp reels and i'm finding that i'm getting a lot of twist compared to the braid i was using last year... I know my rigs have a bit to do with this but my cure is a special lead that i can tie on and cast out... it has sections cut out of it so that it spins in the opposite direct to the twist therefore removing hte twist.. it works really well and after 2 casts the line is perfect... Here's a picture of the lead i use.. i'm sure a hacksaw and a lead is all you'd need to make one of these.

Hey guys, try this
After every cast, once you flip the bail back over, pull a few inches of line against the drag. Be careful not to get cut on a tight drag though. Seems like a pain but it becomes a natural part of casting after a while. It helps keep the spool wound tight and eliminates loops in your line or line twist.

When you get your line on the spool properly it can still get all messed up after fishing with it for a while. If you close the bail manually after each cast you eliminate twisting the line. If you engage the reel handle to close the bail you put a twist in your line each time. Figure how many times a day you cast using that method and it's only a matter of time before you have one hell of a mess.
