Round Lake
Round Lake
what type of fish can be caught in round lake near algonquin park? some friends and I are going camping there this weekend and I am interested to know what species are in the lake.
Round lake
Walleye, pike, bass etc. I don't have any more info - don't get uop that way very often.
check this link out for a map of the lake
You can try fishing from thewooden single lane bridge on Traemore Road or since you are camping, I am guessing at Bonnechere Park, try where the creek enters the lake.
Todayand tomorrow's south wind should send the fish back to the North end

we had a cottage there for years......if you have no boat, your limited to where you can fish......from shore, try the mouth of Byer's Creek or the bridge that crosses the Sherwood River. You can also drive up Turner's Camp road......lots of shore spots up that way. hope this helps.

I'm a goin' fishin', mama's goin' fishin' and my baby's goin fishin' too.

FISH ON
the dead pool
I fished there 2 days ago
I didnt get anything but I know people that have cought a few lake trout there
I marked quite a few fish but it was late afternoon and very choppy
It has been fished hard over the years.
Hard pressed to get any walleye from it but lakers, bass and pike are around
I will post again soon as I plan on not letting the lakers win, a return trip on a calm sunny morning is in order

Round Lake also has a good population of white fish you will need a boat to fish for them.
If you are into shore fishing you can try the tramore road there is a bridge that goes over the Bonnechere River, you may catch a few walleye or northerns from the bridge (Walleye Reg 20" min as this is considered part of Golden Lake).
Or you can go north of Round Lake past Turners Camp and fish the Bonnecher at the Basin Depot Road, mostly northers and the odd small mouth once the season opens.
Good Luck
