This is why I do not watch that show, or some others that are similar... Fish'n Canada is one of my fav's... mostly on-point, good tips, and Pete Bowmans laugh reminds me of Tigger from winny the poo...RJ wrote:I can't stand fishing shows where they are put up in nice places for free then promote the hell out of it.....I refuse to watch that crap....
Shows I like....Mercer....Kolanka...Lindners...and the Next Bite boys when it's not walleye...![]()

BTW, what are you all taking about that "Henry did in the past"... link me in?? sounds like he sodomized an aurora trout while fishing with dynamite...

Fish Ontario, July 1998:
TV anglers turfed by peers

OWC guidelines of professional conduct state,"Members should never violate fish, game, conservation, or environmental laws or regulations." Waszczuk and Canadian Sportfishing co-host Labignan pleaded guilty on five illegal fishing charges in just over one month and paid $3,400 in fines. The pair were each fined $800 on April 3 in Trenton court for foul-hooking Trent River whitefish in November 1995 and rehooking them in the mouth for filming. Labignan was also fined another $200 for hooking another angler's out-of-season lake trout to his own line and recording it being brought in.
In Peterborough court April 16, Waszczuk pleaded guilty to fishing for bass out of season near Minden on June 16, 1995. He was fined $800. On May 4, Waszcuk was fined another $800 for fishing salmon on October 13, 1995, in a Bronte Creek closed area.

Prefer "Fishn' The Flats" over Fins and Skins Jamsers.
Probably my favorite show is a show where the host gets to go to the most beautiful, outrageous and isolated places to fish. "Hooked With Mark Krupa." No better filming out there, and I'll take a half hour of being swept away into some far off land, over another half hour of the same bass, walleye or salmon tactics that get fed to us weekend after weekend after weekend.
I like friends, internet and magazines to educate because you can get what you need relatively quick, when and how you need or want it... I prefer my TV to be escapism 101, especially on sluggish weekend mornings.

What most people don't know....... Not only did they rehook fish for filming, they also stole photo's from an outdoor writer I know and published them as their own. This was around the same time as the trent river incident. It was being persued in court, not sure of the outcome.
No mention of Chronzy yet??? Lol....yum... Musky steaks.

I don't like, or any shows that all you see is 2 guys catching fish after fish and they don't explain the techniques used or anything I don't like. The one I enjoyed a lot before I can't remember the name of it , the guy doing it had a strong british accent I think it wads called the Urban Fishing adventure or something like that. But I haven't watched much fishing show lately.
But like most others I can't stand Henry or Italo and not because they were caught poaching. Ones sounds like a Kindergarten teacher and the one sounds like conceited ex-footbal player !!!!!
Plus I can't stand watching anything about Golf.
Yup...fishing prostitutes.....'give me the money and I will say/promote whatever you like...even if its not true'....
Very few fishing programs I can be bothered watching these days....Oh for a little honesty and integrity from those taking part....these guys ARE the exception

This is very interesting indeed. Why would they then have any kind of career left?
What benefit did they receive for poaching?
I seem to recall a while back a reknowned salmon angler got busted for putting weights in the fish to cheat to get weights up.
People have doctored pictures of musky etc.
Is this because if they don't produce they lose income/sponsors etc?
Just curious as to why folk would do it/risk it.....
As for the show, I hadn't realized that was the case with the shows host. I will not be tuning in now.

The fella who informed the authorities of Henry and Italo's transgressions I beleive is a member of this site....maybe he could tell the story..
Shows are nothing more than a way to promote product or services....whether its a bait...lodge..charter boat....they're all in it for cash....some are just way better at being subtle than others....
