Hmmm.

I've seen a portable battery boost device at your local auto parts type store that has a 12v DC outlet aka. Cigarette lighter, and even a 120 AC outlet. This unit can be charged at home. I guess the big bonus here is that you can use it anywhere, even to boost a dead car battery. Who knows, it might solve the problem.
They run between $50 and $150

Seeing as I started an off topic discussion.....
I took my 2003 Ford Escape in for a oil change. The service guy tells me that it is recommended that at 50000km I should have the transmission pulled and all the gaskets replaced, hmmm and it will only cost me $150,this sounds a little weird to me,next they will be telling me I should have the engine pulled to check the rings!!
Anyone run into this before??
This seems to be a scam, much like they tell you,"you should rotate the tires with every oil change"!!!

Laketrout: just check you owners Manuel it tells all, I know at 50000km they recommend that the trani fluid be flushed. And if you are towing a boat it should be done often.Laketrout wrote:Seeing as I started an off topic discussion.....

Things that make you go Hmmm.

Whatever happened to the old F-150 that lasted for two decades and all you did was change the oil and add gas?
My Saturn dealer is going to crap his pants when he see's the 3500lb. trailer hitch I have on the car... Hehehe

marine grade!
Have you tried looking for the scokets at a marine store. I've installed the marine grade 12v sockets, no rust.
