What have you given to the fish

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

You give that to Le Baron, not the fish :-)

I don't remember losing anything (touch wood). Well, I dropped a camera on the rocks once while trying to take a quick shot of my PB walleye, but it survived the drop.

Lost many lures, esp spoons - laker fishing. Last July I lost my favourite large Gibbs spinner, had it since the mid 70s, now stuck on a shoal about 40ft down. Lost about 4 cannonballs over the years.

what did you give to the fish

Post by Super »

A couple of years ago I was out in my buddy's boat. It became very sunny and hot and both of us were complaining about the heat. All of a sudden my buddy remembers that he packed a golf umbrella in the boat and had even set up some ABS pipe on the back of his chir to hold the umbrella.
So he puts the umbrella up and is laughing at me still in the sun. All of a sudden a big gust of wind and the umbrella goes 10 feet in the air and lands 20 feet away and proceeds to sink. We both tried to get it with our jigs but I was laughing so hard I did not really put much effort in. So he lost the umbrella.
Same buddy, but a different year, we are away for a weekend and munching on cheesys. He has false teeth and some cheesy gets under the plate, so he takes out his teeth (lovely sight) and proceeds to rinse them off in the lake. Unfortunately he lets go! He yells, "Do false teeth float!" He found out they do not. So he spent the rest of the weekend with no teeth, had trouble eating and had to tell the wife when he got home.
So If anyone catches a big pike with great looking teeth holding an umbrella, let me know.

Countless lures, some attached to fish some to bottom I imagine, hats too, had quite a few baseball caps eaten by the Larry, lol. One combo with fish on, hope he was able to get free! No sunglasses yet but give me time! Joe.
