Kirkland brand deep cycle from Costco. I believe they are made by Irving and I have had exceptionally good luck with them.

So J I assume they tested the trolling motor battery as "fine, no need to replace"? Strange that the seldom-used main battery died so quickly... 2 years? Ouch.

Totalbattery off Innes.

You can haggle with them on price. I got a 1000 ca ~800 cca marine starting battery house brand made by johnson controls with 12 month replacement and 36 mnth pro rated for $70 + tax. Just remember to bring in a dead battery to avoid core charge ($19).

If you need something else just go in and tell them what you need they'll give you a price and then tell them what the lowest price you have already found is and they will likely beat it.

Damn that sounds like a good deal. Another site had a deal going on for 10% off or something but that expired in mid-June, unfortunately. Still... knowing their flexible on price is nice. :)

Battery

Post by Haybay Larry »

Get a starting version or a combination starting /deep cycle battery.
If you get a pure deep cycle it won't last you as long as it should. they are not made for high amp discharge[starting]. They are meant to ahe a low rate discharge over time, like a trolling motor or accessories[graph, live well etc.]. Deep cycle batteries don't want to be charged part way as in a boat running from spot to spot but rather at the end of the day charged up to full. While running the boat a partial charge on a deep cycle battery will cut down significantly on the life of the battery.
The combiantion battery will give you the best of both worlds for your application.

Was the battery low on water, or has it run dry? That will shorten there life expectancy.
