While we were out with the family catching some perch my youngest son spies a bobber at the bottom and he proceeds to try and snag it.
Me ,being the "experienced" one says "why would you want a float that obviuosly dosn't float ?"
But 12 year olds have thier own reasons .
He proceeds to snag the bit of mono that was still attached to the float ( quite a feat in its self ) grabs the line and say's " Hey I caught fish!"
Sure enough a small perch on the end of the retrived line still alive !
Fished for 35 years and have never seen that before .

great story, had something similar happen last year and once again the year before.
when your fishing with braid and you really lean into it with both hands and it goes thunk in the air half way to it intended destination it creates a weak spot in the line. well we were chuckin frogs across the slop, a fish came up took my frog down, I set hard (because there is no other way) the line broke at the previously weakened spot, $H!T fish and frog gone..... no not yet, there was about 30-40 feet of power pro laying across the pads and rice. high bypass through the slop grab the line and hand over hand the fish into the boat. the first time two years ago it was in a tournament and although our days weight was nothing to write home about that fish was our biggest of the day.
