26 Breasts

Post by Carl »

Well I wasn't supposed to be going out this morning as I'm packing all weekend for our Moose trip coming up (we're leaving Tuesday)

Anyways, 5:00pm rolls around and Frank calls to say they got 25 in the morning and are going out in the morning before the youth hunt we organized.

I get the blessing to go as we had to be out of the field by 8:00 which meant I'd be home for 9:00. We're supposed to be 6 guys so I couldn't get Jazz to join us. I wish I had his number with me cause at 5:20, we got 3 guys bail out

Anyways, we set up 4 dozen full bodies and we're good to go. We had lots of birds come in the first flock and we downed 2 Second flock, we got 7

We had another few cracks at some birds but they were getting scared off at the last minute and we couldn't figure it out. We ended our morning with 13 birds.

Our field shot.

And what 26 breasts look like

Now I'm going to go pack my gear and tomorrow is trailer packing time to make sure we have everything and pick up last minute things for a Tuesday night departure for Ignace! Here moosey, moosey, moosey

Good luck moose hunting. Hope your's won't be a disaster like mine was (long story, short stay at the camp).

As for the goose breast, nice. I did 20 plus the legs when I came back from my two day outing.

Just love waterfowling. The outfitting service we were with made it possible for us to get all our (5 guys) limits the first day (25 geese), and the second day also our limits (3 guys) limit of 15 geese.

:D

Hey Carl,

Thanks again for bring my trailer and gear home... Wish you would have washed the trailer though

Mostly, thanks for taking the birds, I'll return the favor, I promise!

My pleasure!

It was nice getting out this early in the season. I can't wait to get back from moose so we can do it again.

Trailer is ready to leave tomorrow at 10:00pm. My god I'm counting hours now

Waterfowl, or Migratory Bird regulations can be found on-line or a copy obtained from your local Post Office.

They are not really covered in you Ontario Regs because they are federally regulated vice provincially regulated.
