Have you phoned Princess Auto to check on availability? Mail order seems a bit extreme for an easy to find item...

I called Princess Auto in the east end this morning...they want $189.99 + 13%tx = $214.86 which is CRAZY!!!!!!!!!

Cabela's in Winnipeg will ship the Big Buddy to my home, tax in, shipping in for $166.89....I'm saving close to $50 which I'll spend on the 12' quick disconnect hose

Thanks everyone for the replies....I just ordered the Big Buddy from Cabela's Canada!!

Big Buddy $144.99
5% Tax $7.95
Canada Post Standard shipping $13.95

Grand Total $166.89 :D and I'm a happy camper....

I didn't realize we had a Cabela's store in Canada!!...I'll use it more often now for camping gear.

Got to remember that there is two models of this heater. Be sure the less expensive one is not the lower end model.

The less expensive one is not a low end model, it's a smaller model, same quality.

You're right, I should have specified that one model (MH18B) offers the choice of 4,000, 9,000, and 18,000 BTU/HR, while the other model (MH9BX) offers settings for 4,000 and 9,000 BTU/HR.

Anyone looking at getting their Carry Bag?

The Big Buddy throws off a lot of heat and much of the time the low setting(One lit tile) is more than enough for a portable shanty. Don't know your use for it Steve but great purchase non the less! Mr. Heater do make a quailty product that has been proven. Mine has been banging around sleds and trucks for three years now and will still fire up first try.

I do not own the Big Buddy but I have fished with Getnjiggywithit who does own one many times and you sure do boil inside at some points. Melted my fair share of things as well on it

The buddy's heaters also work wonders for warming up food as well   One of the many famous Clam bake breaky's Katch Moore made on ice. Been warming up meals to go on it ever since :D

Just thought I would share that.

You'll love your new heater Steve :)

The big buddy works well! Heats up my big X2 with no problems at all even on the coldest days! It's taken a good beating and keeps on ticking!
