favorate flipping rod?

hey guys next year im planning on staring to flip for bass and that means another rod
what do you guys sujest
my budget for just the rod is 100 bux

WM, can't go wrong with St. Croix's Mojo series. Prices are right around $99 for most models. Ed at Paddletale's carries them.

For 100 bucks it's hard to beat the St. Croix Mojo Walleyeman. Like Don said I would suggest making a trip to Ed's(Paddletails) and taking a peak at it, bring some extra cash if you can as well

I won't spoil it for ya, you'll see why

I like to play with a couple rods first before buying but I guess it's a bit late for that now

7 foot 6 inch Daiwa light and tough, a great rod!!! feel everything and comfortable to flip with all day long!!!

I believe they are made in China Steve.....I think only their high end stuff is made over here....

I've been using Fenwick HMX's sticks for 2 years....great stick for the money....

If you are ok with something a tad shorter than a true "flippin stick", I REALLY like my Kistler Carbon Steel "Frog'n'Slop" rod. It's 7'3", heavy action, nice tip feel, and about $120ish at Baitcasters. I use it for flippin and for pitchin, but since I pitch about 3x more than I flip, its a better length with a TON of backbone.

Came highly recommended by Justin Hoffman and I gotta agree that its a very sweet rod for the price!

I believe they are made in China Steve.....I think only their high end stuff is made over here....

I recently broke my mojo and had it replaced through St.Croix......There was a sticker on the butt of the rod that said "made in Mexico".
On their website is says "Handcrafted in North America" and by that they mean Mexico.

ya, i had a feeling that mojo rod wasn't a true st croix.

shimano also makes a convergence flippin' stick..however, that rod is HEAVY! its tough to use all day flippin'.

but the clarus is much lighter in weight, but still has all the power.

i'd also take a good look at the rod RJ rec's...he probably flips more in one tourney than i do in a month.

How does that not make it a true st.croix?? The rods are still designed by St.Croix in Wisconsin, they are just not put together there. They are probably made in Mexico because its easier for them to control specs and quality. Guaranteed its more expensive to make a rod in Mexico than it is in China.
Pretty sure a lot Shimano rods are made in China, so does that mean its not a true Shimano??
People are too caught up on where Rods etc.. are made, as long as it performs why should it matter where its made?
Just my 2 cents.

BTW the Clarus 7'6" flippin-stick is a nice rod for sure.

Also might be worth taking a look at the new Abu Garcia Vendetta rods, hear great things about these rods and they made a flipping-stick. Plus they look great!
