Crappie Smith's Falls

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Crappie Smith's Falls

Post by fishboch »

Hi,

I usually fish for crappie in the spring all up the locks system from Manotick to Beveridge Locks but I'm not sure where there are good access points in the winter. That is, are there any points where you can drive on, are there spots where you can park and walk on ? I may be heading up to Smith's Falls this weekend so just wondering if anyone can point out which points I might be able to get on at. Don't want your hot spots, just want to know where to get on.

Thanks.

You can park& walk or drive on at Beveridges - not sure I'd try it yet (drive) but I've done it later in the season.
There are few problems in life which can not be solved with a well-placed, high-explosive projectile.

There is 13" of black ice and 2" - 3" of white ice. There are several shacks out there already and people are driving trucks and cars out there. That being said I'm not saying you should or shouldn't drive on there I'm simply reporting on what I've seen since Friday.
