My buddy was out and managed to get a few shots of this car that went under by Inisfield beach rd!
Think twice eh........

Most people think that the ice is now safe everywhere!!!....

I drove by Palmerston Lake a little over a week ago and the main section was WIDE OPEN!!!!

A buddy of mine was trout fishing yesterday and fished an area on a lake that had 8" of ice.....they decided to move locations by mid day and were shocked to find only 3" of ice on the same lake...he was pretty happy that they left their ATV's close to shore!....

A father and his daughter and grandaughter went through the ice in Vermont and didn't survive..A tragic and preventable loss of life.

The Laker season is closed on that Lake AF....you should know that :shock:

Yup well aware Steve. Did they close it all season or is it still open for two weeks in March or something like that??

and this guy doesn't even know that his worst nightmare is about to begin,,,,,,,,,,,,his insurance is null and void,the police will take over the scene(you have no say in the matter) and call for the vehicle recovery,fire dept. will invoice big,recovery will run about $10k,or more,then the conservation and environmental people will be involved. I recover lotsa' these in a season,for police and they ain't cheap,I know a guy still paying off a new '06 ram that he hasn't seen or driven in 4 years.....be careful!!

Depending on the insurance they had it could be covered.

Tragic for sure.....

Not to be a smarty pants or anything but with the amount of vehicles going through the ice etc I am seriously considering trying to find an ARGO. That was if the ice does break I'll float!

If ya got that much coin in your pockets then go for it 8) ....I'd say the best thing to do is invest in a good 1 piece survival/float suit and make sure you carry ice picks around your neck or in your pockets....at least you'll have a better chance for getting out of the water and not drowning... :wink:

Oh for sure Steve I agree.....

I just meant for if you use a vehicle to get around bigger lakes...
An ARGO would be a better idea then say a sled or atv..would it not?
Certainly better than a truck.... :?

The Argo would float but how do you get it out? They are bulky things and I doubt a sled would manage getting them out.

100ft of heavy rope, 1 or more ice anchors and a winch mounted on the Argo... :?:
