Locked Threads

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Locked Threads

Post by Jimmy_1 »

Not sure why things on here ALWAYS become personal on some level.
People who have never even met seem to take shots at one another and well intended threads quickly go down the toilet.

I see a lot of threats from moderators that accounts action will be taken, but I see that the same people would rather come on here and bash others then try to be helpful or at least impart some knowledge that has been imparted to them.

This is a FISHING site for crying out loud.....I think the bravado and personal issues should be set aside.

I got into this sport for fun, joined this site to learn and meet new folk. However, SOME seem to like making this place miserable. Even to the point people have a FEAR of posting cuz of the bashing and Keyboard toughguy PM's they get.

Seriously, either throw these folks off, adopt a 0 tolerance policy or something....its getting ftarded!

If not, they'll be some choice Loomis stuff for sale on here soon because the politics of this place and the sport in general is BS.

Thanks to those on here who keep it civil, give advice and post about outings....

IF you think that the sport in general is BS, then it will only be a matter of time before you put your choice Loomis stuff up for sale... :D ....send me a PM when you do decide and I might take some stuff off your hands Jimmay!

Good point(s) James.

I agree with you, 95%. The only thing I think you may be wrong on would be to sell your equipment and give up the sport because of things said on this forum. Keep enjoying the sport, just change the company you keep (online or in real life).

I have had some well-placed jabs taken at me. Most were in good fun, and I could see the humor in them. But I've also been walloped with some abuse over some simple comments (one about eating a certain species of fish... lets not go there again). I've become more of a lurker, choosing to post less often, and weighing my words considerably when I do. Mind you, if everyone did this, F-H wouldn't get much participation...

guys....its the same thing EVERY year around now....this happened last year and the year before...and guess what, it'll probably happen again next year...occurs more often with those that don't hardwater fish (i'm one of those) :)

(btw...you don't want a ZERO tolerance Jimmy...cause things like "ftarded! " would be a violation of that..masked profanity)

If everyone would adopt a policy of "would i be happy if someone said that to me" BEFORE they hit submit, a lot of this wouldn't be nessessary)

be proactive and be part of the solution rather than part of the problem

I guess there is a fine line between being politically correct and reality! Your opinions only matter if they are politcally correct!

this sport is not BS bud and you know it.. you shouldn't let the arrogant people on the site throw you off..hang in there..i've read some postings on this site and there are alot of good people here..i can also see from peoples responses that some of them don't write what they want to write and are holding back.. the only way for you guys that are getting bashed is to stand up for those who are getting bashed as they would/should for you..words go a LONG way..its funny cuz these people that you'd be standing up to are people on the internet that have nothing better to do  ..face to face they would not look you in the eye...this site is overated with rules..and more rules...

P.S. I think everyone that is holding back on there reports should post em..I, along with alot of people would enjoy reading them. THanks.

Aadil :)

I personally think all bird photos should be removed. Seriously.

Jimmy's gonna sell all his gear because people can't get along on the internet....

Reality is it's been tame on here....Trophiemuskie gets attacked all the time....people get their panties in a bunch when they see a dead 12 pound walleye.....it's nothing new...it'll never change....just the characters.

One thing some may not realize is you keep crapping on Andy...well if it wasn't for Andy and a few others.....this place would done.

-point being its sickening that everything and anything you post IS scrutinized on here....and by folk who don't know you...for every Congrats there is 10 bashes....

Reality is it's been tame on here....Trophiemuskie gets attacked all the time (not right...take the personal crap elsewhere)....people get their panties in a bunch when they see a dead 12 pound walleye (jealous they didn't catch it).....it's nothing new...it'll never change....just the characters.

That's a great idea RJ....we have a Hunting forum so why not have a Bird/Nature forum???..... would be great for the ones that are interested and even better for the ones that are not.... 8)
