comments????

Post by Big Jim »

I suppose the comment about the cheeseburgers is directed to me Mr. Thorpe... since I am a touch over weight AND I just happen to spend quite a bit of time watching birds ...who cares if you caught over 300 muskie's again last year ya fruitcake ...I saw a Great Grey Owl yesterday and three Barred Owls in the last couple of evenings...how many mukie's have you caught in the last three days Cap't OCT-O-GONE??

RJ, just because I put up with you for an evening of sharing ice tip's at Le Baron doesn't mean you can bash my bird watching...in fact maybe you should turn in your HT FACTORY SHIRT immediatley...

I'll be in Le Baron for a quick visit on Tuesday morning to meet Jamie the KAYAK DUDE for breakfast ...if any body wants a piece ...BE THERE(and I don't mean of my bacon) ...in fact I might just warm up with the Kayak Dude cause a had a Kayak cut me off about three or four years ago on the St. Larry...

Is this the kind of stuff you mean Jimmy

BIG JIM

Hi y'all,

I am someone who doesn't post on this site to avoid suffering the aggressions of a few unscrupulous posters who seem to bash others on this site on a very regular basis. Life is just too short to put your head into a wasp nest.

As someone who has been guiding muskies, trout, eyes, pike and bass for almost 35 years from LOTW to Quebec, filmed most of the fishing tv shows, been in most of the industry magazines, spoken at fishing shows from NY to WI, and has the respect of the people that matter in the industry, I might actually have something interesting and informational to contribute to a thread or two. Unfortuanately, this is not the place for me to share because of the few idiots that ruin it for everyone else.

BTW, did anyone notice that it is usually the same people/person involved in the threads that get locked?

I guide muskies full-time. I have no convictions for drugs, alcohol, assaults, vandalism, or ANYTHING, ever. I have never had an issue with Transport Canada, the MNR, or Fisheries and Oceans. I have never declared this publicly before because I didn't think I had to, but with the constant bashing of guides that goes on here, I almost feel like I do. My guest book is my best reference as a guide and my guests come back. You can't ask for better proof that your work is at least good enough in this business.

It is all too easy in a web forum to hide behind an avatar and throw stones with your keyboard. The funny thing is that the throwers of the biggest stones tend to live in the biggest glass houses.

I think if the mods on this site remove the troublemakers it would be a better place for everyone. Not only that, it makes better business sense for you as you would undoubtedly get more input from people who don't want to live in a world of controversy.

Garbage day is Thursday. Take the trash out and wave goodbye to it. If you keep your trash in your house, it starts to smell bad and people don't want to hang out with you.

Big Jim, It took me to the middle of your second paragraph to realize you were kidding..LOL. But seriously if he did cut you off with a kayak don't give him a piece..give him the whole thing!!!

Muskyfactory, Please contribute, yes there is a lot of nonsense on here, but there is also a lot of people who would enjoy learning from a well respect individual with a lot of experience in the industry. As the saying goes "you can't buy experience" but forums like this do make sharing the hard earned knowledge a little easier, if people like you are willing to contribute. I know I have a learned a few tips and tricks on here, and I welcome the chance to learn some more. No one knows everything.

I'm going to quit fishing.
Please see classifieds.

My choice Mr. Noodle and Snoopy rods will be for sale.
All my tackle. Everything. I can't take it no more.

Bye fish-hawk.

Serious some people need to RELAX. And some people need to stop posting random long winded jibberish. And though I do enjoy the bird photos, the hijacking of every thread with bird shots does need to stop.

ok...since we're playing the "did you ever notice" game....have you noticed that the people whose posts have comments made against are quite often the same people....know WHY? because the person making the comment KNOWS that you'll react. and thats what drives those posts.

If i put a report here and someone says "omg what a dork fisherman" to get a reaction, and i provide that...what have i done? I've FED them exactly what they want. If i choose to ignore the comment (which i would do, as its too close to reality LMAO), no feed, therefore they move on looking for someone that WILL react.

so you want to stop the crap....then stop enabling it. YOU enable it if you feed the animal :)

hence my comment above: try to be part of the solution rather than part of the problem.

any how....just my personal 2 cents...slay me as you wish LOL

(call me a dork and i will cause you to have 'puter issues  )
