Couple weekends on the ice

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Couple weekends on the ice

Post by bradford2 »

It's been a different year for me in terms of getting out on the ice. My fishing time has been cut way back and will be probably for a long time. Damn baby on the way.......... :D

I have been able to sneak out of the house a few times the last couple weekends and things have generally been pretty good.

Chased some slabs around during the warm spell 2 weekends ago..... they were fired up and hitting forage minnows and flyer spoons.... sometimes only 2 feet below the ice.

Last weekend I snuck away to fish for some lakers. For sure my favourite fish. Jigged up a couple of 'overs' that left me grinnin ear to ear. Both fish ate a gold rattle snakie in 45ish FOW.

Baby is due March 22nd...... so that will for sure eat into most of my ice time, and spring, heck and summer and fall...... but I'll still find time for another fish or two .

How many years till they are able to jig up a laker? Can't wait!

Even though your fishing time is suffering cut backs, you seem to be maximizing the time spent.

nice fish

You've definitely got a hot stick this year. (Take that any way you'd like)

Congrats all around.
