Which Lake?
Which Lake?
Looking for some opinions. Which lake is better for some mid May pike fishing; Kipawa or Big Gull? If you have any other suggestions post em.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Are there any cottages, cabins, or vacation homes that you know of on Lake Kashwakamak? Do you have any that you would recommend?bardern wrote: I would think your best bet would be Big Gull, plus the walleye fishing is better. Personally for pike and walleye I like Kashawashimac (sp) it is right beside Big Gull.

sorry Dinger but I am not sure about resorts. we have a cottage in the area, this is how I know the local lakes. Try a google on Cloyne Ontario Resorts and see what turns up.

Dont need a resort just a place to stay and dock my boat. I have done some searches and found places to stay on each lake. Just trying to get some opinions on better Pike lakes. I have been going to 31 mile lake for many years. We've caught plenty of 6-8 pounders and a slew 10+ but would really like to land a monster 15+. Plus we have found 4 good areas on that lake that produce the pike. We stay the week and fish 8+ hours a day so thats a lot of pressure on 4 areas.
We have looked at a few places on Kipawa and Ive sent some emails out inquiring about lodging. I have a 20ft fish/ski boat with 200hp so lake size doesnt really matter. Just would love a chance at some monster pike. Six pound smallies are also a plus. If you have any suggestions for cottages/lodges please let me know. Thank you.14fishing wrote:Kipawa is a huge lake - did you have an area/lodge in mind? My dad has been fishing it for 20 years, usually the end of June or early July. They focus on 'eyes, but they pick up some big pike every year.
Also, the smallmouth fishing has picked up - 6 lbers every year.

Not meant as a hijack... but Conquistador, every time I see your nick... I always have this song in my head:Conquistador wrote:If you want monster pike go north of superior ie: Lake of the Woods... and the beauty is you won't be deemed a poacher for tagging six pound smallies. Season around here for bass only opens end of june... best of luck.

I fish the St. Lawrence River a lot and in 30+ years I have only got a handful around 15.
