something tell me that flippin/pitching this 3/4 oZ jig will score me some big pike!

never tried it but we will see.
when there down deep and not bitting you have to go get them.
spinner baits and spoons have worked great for me but i find i dont get enough or pull out the true monster.
this year new tricks and tips on the menu.
pull the big ones from the deep beds.
OH yeah and this lure BEACHBURGER gave me is a hell of a pike killer.
they just T bone this lure like theres no tommorow.
dont remmember the name but its from rapala.

i think trying new things will pay off this year.

I was thinking the same thing... but year after year, my biggest pike get pulled out with skitter pops.
Again... the numbers happen on the spinners and buzz... but my top 5 PB pike are on skitter pops.
The only thing I don't like was the treble hooks affect on the pike's mouth. I had to eat a 10 pounder... (I eat pike but I prefer them to be in the 5lb range) I changed some of mine to singles. The other thing I learned was to set the hook quickly so they don't swallow the damn thing.

@Cprince,
Yeah that's why I missed a few big ones, had the big one in the pic had the pop'r a 1/4" deeper, he would have made some giant rubber fillets, so I was setting the hook quick. Again, real glad to hear this isn't a fluke. I have a great spot to hit early this season while the big ones are still shallow. Maybe I'll beat last year's 35" fish. Thanks for sharing.
tight lines,
Yannick
