Sand Lake?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

There are two Sand Lakes. One is just outside Westport, below Wolfe lake and at one time, had a healthy population of eyes. That may still be the case, but I have had no first hand knowledge for several yrs.

The second Sand Lake is part of the Rideau system but is two locks down from Newboro (Chaffey's and Davis). It supports a healthy population of bass, pike and panfish. The ocasional splake is caught that must make it's way down from Indian! I am not saying that there aren't ANY eyes but there certainly not a large enough population to warrant regular fishing for them. Access can be had at the end of Battams rd beside the campground. It is a nice lake with lots of fishable water between Davis Lock and Jones Falls.

Good Luck!

Some fellas that used to fish Wolfe would pull their boat out for a day's fishing on Sand (by Westport) and would get some great action with bass and pike -- particularly on top water.

Wow............................

Did I just have Deja vu????

This is just like a post a while back with bobber and which Sand lake are we talking about.

Sand lake in the Rideau no 'eye

Sand lake past Westport going to Wolfe.......'eye. Not sure how stable the population is.

Sorry Andy............if I would only have read just a bit slower....d'oh
