New Section to Fish Hawk (Take a Hawk Fishing)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

New Section to Fish Hawk (Take a Hawk Fishing)

Post by MTF »

So I was reading through the Fishing Talk section of the website and noticed there are alot of threads relating to open seats or people looking to get out fishing but don't have a boat.

I was thinking it might be a good idea to create a new section on Fishhawk dedicated to this, a place where people can offer to take ppl out or look for a ride.

What are others thoughts on this?...I'm sure with all our ideas put together we could get something going.

We have so many sections as it is and when you keep sub sectioning the site everything starts to get lost. the "Community Events, Outings, & Get-Togethers" could be used for this, I know when I try to keep up on whats going on here to keep it clean  The more places I have to look the harder it is to manage :?

Could it be made a sticky in the fishing forum? Might attract more attention there. I think it's a great idea!

I'd be cautious with this idea. I've had many many strangers fish from my boat and it's not always a winning combination. You never know what you're going to get....language, drugs, alcohol, hard on gear, no cost sharing, smoking, messy, and just plain stupid are a few of the attributes you might find show up at the dock.

In a perfect world, it's a great concept. Just be cautious. Everyones expectations are very different.

Sorry about that....

I think the way it is now seems to be working well enough.....guys are posting open spots...and away someone goes....

I've met lifelong friends thru this site....and that is exactly how....

I think most people watch the fishing forum more then any others so this is probably the best place for this type of post as most of the time it is short notice.

I'm sure you may get the odd crackpot but all the people I have met through FH have been great. And if someone can't follow the rules abourd the muskie magnet then they are driven back to the dock.

Sure I'm a full time guide and every year I take out guys I have never met before but they are paying my salary so I can put up with a little more from a client then from a friend helping with gas money.

I think this is the best part of FH after the fishing reports and tips etc.

I know I'll be taking out some FH friends this summer as I do every year.
