This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

A little tip that I can give on the exact bait you used:

Remove the bottom treble hook. This will allow you to fish/swim the bait more effectively in and around vegetation and other cover without getting hooked up on things other than fish. Also it will keep away smaller fish that just chomp on the tail and less hooks deep when the fish, like in your pics eat the bait. Less mortality for sure.

Cheers!
i was thinking the same thing slop.

after killing that first 9 lbs pike i didnt want to do it again.

then i though maybe by removing this treble i will miss them.

but as you said they were inhailing it so i would have no trouble setting the hook hard that top hook would dig in the roof of there mouth killing less and doing less damage to them.

usualy i release them all .

that 9 pounder gave me 6 ziplock bags of clean fillets.

i wont waste them but if i had to kill that 10 + that would have benn WAY to much meat to share around .

i would have wasted some over the month.

i will defenetly try this tip thanks slop! :D

Holy smokes Kev those are some nasty huge gators. I think you need to get a new scale bud cuz those 2 fish were way bigger than the 13 pounder my brother got last week. Unless the pics are deceiving and the fish were smaller but they look HUGE!!! You're gonna have to show me how to fish with these spinners and swimbaits. I've only fished with dead boring lures. Maybe I need to switch it up a little.

Thanks for the schooling about lures and presentation. I will put that to good use this week.
