starting battery help

wondering if ya can start a 15hp motor with a 6 volt battery can i use it all the time.(or should i use a normal car battery)

next ?-does your motor charge the battery?

NO you cant use one 6v battery to start a 12 volts system.

. Some motors have a stator (generator) that produces just enough power(electricity) to run the motor and nothing much else.

you will have to determine if your motor is equiped to charge, usually, if a motor came equiped from the factory with a electric starter, then it has a system that will allow charging of the battery.

I would not use a normal car battery, use a marine battery and for that motor, I would buy the smallest marine battery there is unless you plan to use it for a trolling motor as well.

Unless you have 2 of them then you can connect them in series to get 12V.
