Helpppppp needed with my down rigger install

Post by High Noon »

Hi Folks,

I went to installl my new Easi-Troll hs today and hit a snag. I have a Lund WC 14 and when I set it where it needs to go the wire that holds the ball rubs against the top rail of the boat.

I have the swivel mount for it and when I swivel it back one click it seems to just clear the boat.

I am really hoping that somone has a good solution for this as I want to install it over the week-end.

Thanks
High Noon

i have noticed that some people with utilities use a board. they run a board across from one side to the other and hold it down running a bolt down through the oar lock.

High Noon,

How/where did you mount your swivel base to? Canon sells a pedestal base that gives you 6" more height....that would resolve your problem..check with LeBarons or some of the local shops, they may have them in stock.

Hey Highnoon

Had the same problem. Go to Home Depot and get a 2 X 6 and cut two sections or three if you want it hogher. Bolt them and the mount to wherever you are going to mount it and you're done. Much cheaper than a Cannon mount.

Hey Hooker

I used this method when I built a storage area in the back of my boat to conceal the batteries and the gas tank. Storage area also has a
pedestal seat mount. Covered the solid pedestals with indoor/outdoor carpeting to make them more pleasing to the eye. Mounted
two Cannon Mini Mags, looks and works great.
