I just started fly fishing again after a long hiatus. I live in the Pembroke area and there doesn't seem to be a decent fly supplier within 90 miles of here. CT has few muddlers and wooly buggers, but other that there's not much around here. I managed to pick up a decent #6 St. Croix rod, but I need to get stocked up on flies.
Can you guys recommend a reputable ONLINE dealer for good quality flies and equipment? I remember from my past fly fishing days that there was some real junk out there.
Thanks for your help. Looking forward to posting a trip report soon after I get geared up!

There are a number of sites available. Just google on this topic and you will get hundreds of hits. Personally, I tie most of my flies, but, I would believe any of on-line store will be fine. Most of the flies available today are made in China - nothing wrong with this at all since most of the best US triers have gone to China to show then how to tie flies - at least this is what I have been told by various shops and fly tiers I meet in the US. You could always go with the big shops such as Orvis or even Le Baron here in Canada.

I tie my own flies as well but one online shop that comes up a lot as a place to buy files online is Reel Flies
http://www.reelflies.ca/
Even if they are junk flies, at least they don't cost a lot.

I've heard a few positive reports (on a different site) of the quality and service of http://www.reelflies.ca/ . Have you contacted the two Ottawa fly shops about ordering flies and having them sent via Canada post? They could help you with fly selection for the species you intend to target.
Time's fun when you're having flies.

I use to tie my own but I just can't seem to find time anymore....Now I use Flyshack and I'm impressed with the quality and workmanship of their flies...they stand behind a 90 day 100% guarantee so if you don't like the flies, you can return them for a full refund
