So I got an email from a Biologist, working for the NCC, regarding the gas motors.
Translated: "It is true that the use of electric motors is prefered."
Personnally, I don't like the word "preferred"... Does that mean that someday blue will be prefered, and anyone wearing red won't be allowed? So I asked: "I understand the preference towards electric motors, but can you confirm or deny that gas motors are, indeed, banned from use on Lac La Peche? If so, can you provide the article of law, so that I may share with fellow fishermen/boaters?"
... I haven't heard back yet. The truth is, since I'm asking for legal proof (and I know that it hasn't been before the courts, or the House Of Commons), I doubt I'll get an answer. If I do, I'll post here.

But don't get drunk while waiting for an answer.

Keep us in touch on that request.

CONFIRMED!!!!
It is NOT illegal to use a gas motor on Lac LaPêche. There are no Federal, Provincial or municipal laws regulating the use of gas vs electric motors on Lac LaPêche.
The "preference" for electric motors stems from the "Vision Statement" set forth by the NCC leaders.
Sorry Joco, but you will continue to see Craig, LeGrand and I there in our boats. You are welcomed to join me as I putt around the lake (probably at the same speed as your paddle).

Isn't that the way most informative threads go?wongrs wrote:what? it went from closing down a boat launch to bashing cyclists, kayakers, people that live in the glebe and gays? really?

We start off with a decent question, it goes back and forth a little bit, we completely deviate and turn to insults

If you can't poke fun at yourself, friends or fellow F-H'ers, what's the point?
You may not have noticed, but RJ took a jab at me. I think I'm getting a reputation for not wanting to pay for launch fees or parking. It's all in good fun!

Bring on the fat kid, and we'll take a kick at him too!
