What's your GOAL this year?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Fish as many days as possible, I'd like to fish every day of the season but that's just not possible. I don't think taking a few cast off the dock counts ether. I hope to get passed 150 with minimum 2-3 hour outings.
Catch and release them all

I've never caught a walleye before. That's my goal.
Get out on the water as much as possible and just enjoy the outdoors

I had three goals, but one has been accomplished.

#1: Catch a 4lb walleye (caught it at Domaine Shannon, 4.5 lbs)
#2: Break the 10-lbs mark with a pike
#3: Harvest a 10-15lbs Sturgeon, for table fare.

Goal this year

Hmmm

Five pound bass would be nice.

Get a clue of what it takes to catch fish in the Rideau river... :?

Put the final touches on the new home so that next year I can fish more

Actually I have nothing to complain about. I think I will continue to just keep fishing despite whatever life throws at me.

But a five pound bass would be nice.

Good thread, Mr. J.

I'd like to see that certified nickel this year -- I seem to flirt with bigger and better each season, but perhaps just missed the mark last August.

Also, it would be great to catch a new (for me) species.

To keep the kids enthusiastic and enjoying fishing is another goal, as this directly benefits MY ambitions.

W.
Thanks, Dad, for taking me fishing when I was a kid.
