What's your GOAL this year?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Here are a few of my goals...

5lb bass
5lb walleye
10lb pike
any laker
any spec

I think I have a decent shot at this however I will be fishing from shore most of the time so it will be a challege. (might have to wait for next ice season for the laker)

I'd love my father to get through the next 3 months of chemo, and for him, and my 2 1/2 year old to join me on the water and maybe even catch a fish or two..

That will make my year, and the most memorable fishing day.
All the best to you guys! That's why I love fishing... it's such a healing exercise. Makes me forget about stress at work... and it brings a family together who are experiencing rough times.

I really do hope you get the chance to reel in a few with your dad and son!

I have 2 goals this year.

The first is to compete in a large bass tournement like B1 or Simcoe Open (fall) .

The second is to win a bass tournement on the Ottawa with just smallies . Dont think it has been done yet..could be wrong .

To track down the muskie who forever changed the way I fish. After dropping hundreds of dollars on over sized muskie lures i finnally got my first massive hit. After a decent fight i see a huge "V" formation under the boat. My "muskie lure" caught a 31" pike who was engulfed by the biggest muskie i have ever seen in my life. I played tug of war with this monster right at the side of the boat, he had zero fear ofmy 12 foot tinny. To my disgust people that saw it wanted me to gaff it to get it in, realisticaly it would have been the only way, but i would never even consider it. Once he got off he stayed under the boat for a few minutes and swam away. I will forever see that armor plated head starring at me, fighting me over a pike. To which i concluded...there will never be a lure big enough!

How would you set up the hooks on a 31" life-like pike lure? :D There would have to be 6 sets of treble hooks all along the side.
