Great Fathers Day for me!!!! Two Musky Night-Pictures Added

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Great Fathers Day for me!!!! Two Musky Night-Pictures Added

Post by Placide »

Well after waiting for the rain to come in today decided to give Mr. J a call at 3 and see if he wanted to get out for some Musky. What a great idea he says so off we go. 5:20 first fish, beauty 36 1/2 incher, PB casting. I am happier than a pig in you know what.... Keep fishing for a bit longer, decide that 6:30 will be the end to our day. 6:05 another fish on, well doesn't it jump out of the water, thought I lost it, almost threw my rod down, then realized it was still on, J nets it and its a beautful 39incher, beats my PB in less the an hour.... What a day :)

Mr.J will have to post pictures for me :):)

Thanks Again J

I just passed along the pictures to Placide and I'll let him choose the ones he wants to post.

Now, there's always more to the story.

First off I had just cast out a long bomb and as soon as my lure hit the water I heard the comotion behind me as Placide got his first fish. I never knew I could reel in that quickly.

Secondly I have had very little actual practice netting a fish and I was soooooo excited that he had hooked into one that I almost did the dirty dumb thing and I knocked the fishes head. Not sure who didn't want to loose the fish more, him or I.

Thirdly, another long bomb cast and he got his second fish. I don't think I had rested enough from my last long bomb fast retirieve but for some reason I felt like I had to give him heck for waiting until I cast as far as I could before he hooks his fish.

Ok so I was a bit better at netting the second fish but still need some practice.

Good job buddy, I know now I've got a partner in the boat for life. WOW 2 fish in 1 day in a couple of hours, I am so happy I was part of it.

Bring on the pictures

Nice catches Placide but the second pic you titled 39" made me spitt my drink cause I scrolled down to see it and there is your butt and not the fish. You need to fix that one.
Fishing isn't a matter of life and death....
It's much more important.
