Mal's Camping - Info needed

Mal's Camping - Info needed

I am camping at Mal's Camping in Lanark this coming weekend. I hear the river is very shallow, and probably not good to put the boat in there. Is anyone familiar with this area? Should I just drive up to Mississippi Lake and launch there? I have a 16.5 ft. Fish and Ski.

If you recommend just going up to the lake, where's the best spot to launch?

Any advice is appreciated.

The river is fairly shallow upstream in some spots for sure, although I do alright in my 14' tinny. You just have to pay attention. I've never been downriver from Mal's, so I can't comment about that stretch.

If you do decide to head to the lake, you can launch at the end of Conc. 9A, off #7.
