Hey all,
Looking for a general how-to to get started hunting in Eastern Ontario. I decided to take it up recently, got all my paperwork including turkey cert, and inherited a number of firearms from family.
I'm interested in waterfowl / turkey / small game hunting primarily (to start).
Are there any great guides in the area that might take a single hunter for reasonable cost, or pair me up with another single hunter?
Starting to think about the fall already...
Let me know what you recommend. Thanks

If you're up north during grouse season, drive a logging road or walk trails first thing in the morning on a weekday.
You'll get birds all day, any day, but it's always best when there's little traffic. It's a better experience too when you feel like you're the only one for miles around.
I see lots of grouse in the Larose Forest, but they're extremely skiddish. As for turkey, Google Earth is your friend.
Good luck Ian.
