Loch garry

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Never know that this lake existed...

BUT

By the looks of the lake on the map... if there is a public launch, you only have about 3 or 4 streets to choose from!

Good luck!

Again... I have never been there... but a little deduction could save you some time;

If you look at the map, to me you have 6 possible points of entry:

Zoom in a little and you will notice that only 2 out of 6 of these streets that look as though they *may* have a launch at the end of them have actual street names. Many streets that appear in Google Maps that do not have names are private.

So that narrows it down to two possible places to find a launch.

Again... I have never been there... so I certainly could be wrong... but this is how I would approach this lake having never been there looking for a launch.

Good luck... and would you let me know if I was right or wrong?

Thanks!

I promise you are wasting time on this lake.

MNR dropped the water level year before last, or in 2008 and killed just about everything. I spoke with some locals, read the stories, cried and cried... This lake held secrets for me...

All gone now...

The launch is off of lakeshore drive... East of the lake. You take the 43 to lakeshore and use the "river" to get to the main lake.

I'm not joking... Yer wasting time... I'll see if I can find the articles on the MNR issue...

BTW they killed the lake 2 years ago so best of luck.

Looks like I am late but we used to use a ramp off the Loch Garry Road. You had to idle up this scummy creek to get to the Loch, which was the only drawback.

loch garry

Used to be excellent for largies and muskies, but the last couple of years, there has been MAJOR die offs to the point where the lake has been pretty near depleted of ALL fish. It is not a deep lake to start off with, then they would drop the water to the point where the fish had no where to go, therfore they ended up dying. Our fishing club would go in and help clean the banks. About 5 - 6 years ago, some of the folks from the next province got caught from the MNR with over 75 bass after a day fishing for a family shore lunch, apparently they had been doing this for 3 years. So with all of this going on, there might be some perch left, but not much more, which is a sad state of affairs.
