Lac La Pêche Gatineau Park

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Excuse my ignorance, but where is Lake St-Marie? Guess I don't go out too often.

It is a lake that is more like an appendix on the Gatineau river.

This is why I am shocked that any one bothers to stock that lake. Anything that is in the Gatineau can end up in St Marie. Anything that is in St Marie can end up in the Gatineau.

We are not talking about a little stream from the lake into the river... Let me show you what I mean;

Image

The part that joins the two bodies of water are bigger than it appears on this map. There are some passes that is shown as low lands that is under water and has been for the past few years that I have been going there.

What are they stocking in there? Trout? Walleye? Musky? Gar?

I just don't get it. I prefer that fishing in the river than in the lake.

I hear the ice fishing is good on St Marie.

craig they stocked trout mainly at least the gouverment those......but like i said if the lake association stock off some wlaeye it wont be published in the list it would be private........the trout are mainly for the fishing week for kids...not to realy stocked it.

and they sticked the gatineau river in a few place ex gracefiled in trouts to for the kids derbies.

i gues it those work because i got 3 brown in the gatineau river in bouchete one opening few years back so there in there.

but that lake is actulay a bay only..fish goes in and out..good thing becasue there stil plenty off pressur in that lake a lot off derbies etc.

I hear they also stock Beauchamps in Gatineau. I was thinking of trolling in there this week depending on the wind. I am going to borrow my buddy's down rigger.

Thanks for the details. Had never paid attention to that area right of 105. I really should get out more often.

So are there any specific places where you can launch a boat? I see on the map two place that mention "Quai".

Go right into town, and look to your right. Don't forget to pay the launch fee!

For a FREE launch, in Low, turn right to go to the dam. Follow the signs. If you launch here and plan to hit Ste-Marie, you'd better bring a big motor and lotsa gas.

OOooo I caught one!!!!

:D

We will try this week. My friend is letting me use his 28 foot Campion. I am spooled with lead core and I am ready to take on Beauchamps. Just hope the wind holds off. White caps on Beauchamps can be brutal.

I do the Paugan to St-Marie run regularly. It takes me about 30 to 45 minutes with my little tinny with my 1977 15 hp Eska @30kph. I usually fish my way there, so the time is just a guesstimate. And my tank lasts all day with out a problem.

Not as far as you think. But it will save you the $5.

You guys referring to the Lac Beauchamp of Boulevard Maloney in the east-end of Gatineau? And your are talking about its depth? How deep is that lake? What kind of dominant species in there?

I'm sure the guys are speaking of Beauchamp with a certain amout of sarcasm... If not, I apologize if I offend.

Beauchamps is about the size of a football field, no gas motors, no launch. It is stocked with trout every year, though most suspect that they die off due to the summer's heat. It's not a very deep lake.

Lotsa perch and cats to be had, though...

That's better. Looked like a pond.

But curiosity got to me.
