Maps and advice for Kashwakamak Lake???

Hey guys, I will be going fishing Kashwakamak in a few weeks (Aug 21-22) and would really like to make sure I atleast can get my young cousin (age 10) into some fish as he hasn't really fished before. Would also like to get a small snack of walleye (I will only keep the 15"-20" ers)

I'm looking to find some maps of the lake to prevent me from needing a new lower unit, as well as some advice on where to fish. I've done a search on here and come up with some good stuff, but just wanted to see if there was anymore help out there???

Don't know where you're staying, but Kevin, the
owner/operator of Fernleigh Lodge has detailed
maps of the lake (even has species marked on it

)
that he would probably sell/give to you.

Hint: Go into the little store and pick up a couple
things, maps are on/behind the counter.

Don't want to discourage you but I fished this lake for a week with not much to show for it end of July last year. I think it's a lake that can produce some smallies in early and late season but is pretty dead throughout the rest of the season. There were 8 guys from the states who were there for the first time and were quite disappointed. Anway, I can tell you that any fish I did catch or saw caught were related to weedbeds. Nothing was on rocks. Nothing. All were in the weeds that grow throughout the middle of the lake and in the channels into bays. A few largies were caught while | was there but not much. Right in front of the camp (fernleigh) is a big weedbed and down to the left of the camp there is a big bay we fished in and manage to catch a few. Rocks I did not find an issue. The guy who owns the camp will take you on a tour on his pontoon boat and show you the lake some. He uses only live bait (leeches) that I can tell you. Not a big fan of live bait for bass but on the last day I was tired of not catching anything so I tried it. still did not have much luck. Every point with a rock or a shoal was marked. Good luck!
