Help Getting Started

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Help Getting Started

Post by newboatbrad »

I have been a shore fisherman for many years but this year my wife and I purchase a new to us boat. The boat is docked in Wendover and I'm looking for some ideas on where is a good place to start fishing. We have tried some of the weed lines in the near area with limited success. I'm looking for a place to bring friends and family so we can enjoy a morning on the water. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad

Brad:
first off your in wendover and the boat launch is free and the ottawa river has many hogs to be caught so keep trying you'll have some success. River is super low so watch that prop!

Like the last post said you are already on one of the best bodies of water to fish ... the Ottawa ... there's fish everywhere on it. You name the species it can be caught. When we've been on the river we simply go along until we see a nice bay to do some casting or a sand bar with a drop off for jigging or a place where another river or stream meets the Ottawa where fish are feeding ... heck I seen a fishing show one time with parliament hill in the background !!

Explore, explore, explore !!!
