Evening Muskie report (pics showing now)

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Evening Muskie report (pics showing now)

Post by muskymatt »

Got out the other day and got a decent Muskie, she hit a cowgirl and put up a good fight...my net man Rodbreaker did a great job making sure we would get a pic or 2.

44" with a 17" girth and even had a little traveller...10" lamprey which we removed

Decent size fish

Bought a new underwater camera so had to try it out...kinda cool 8)

Nice fish.

Out of curiosity does the Lamprey feed on blood like a Leech ? ? ?

Yes, they will attach and chew a hole through the scales and suck blood ouot of it's host. I have seen as many as four on a single fish and have caught a muskie that looked like it had been shot with a machinegun.
One muskie had a scar the size of a loonie or bigger.
Slimy, squiggly lthings almost impossible to grab even with pliers and they will attach to anything.
