I am going to Lake Clear and there will not be any minnows at the lodge....has anyone had success with frozen minnows....I'm afraid they may be mushy once they thaw....thanks.....
Gulp! Alive minnows, leeches, and crawlers might be worth looking into. They're relatively inexpensive compared to live bait, and they work! (FYI: $15.99 @ LeBaron right now for all tubs, including minnow variety tubs and single-type tubs)
If you freeze them straight with a little bit of salt, they stay pretty nice...If used for trolling slap a tooth pick in it so it stays nice and straight.
If you go that route DO NOT open the plastic clear wrap on the top of the bucket... cut a hole big enough for 2 fingers in the middle and reach in and grab your minnows that way.

You took the words outof my mouth.I've had my best luck with the yellow & orange curly tail grub packs for some reason. For best luck ,I remarinate them every 5-10 min. They usually get bit best when first out of the pack during the first few casts.
