Anyone interested in a winter G2G for trout sometime?? Trying to see if there is interest at all. It would be a low key very informal ( Sorry Luke no tux's ) and a very relaxing G2G. As it is trout it would have to be a well known location and not some back woods locale or Mike P's honey holes!!!
Anyone???

It's much more important.
I should have said it was open to anyone not just trout guys. I am sure there are a lot of people who would love to try fishing for trout. Anyone is welcome.

Where where you thinking of? Silver lake? Muskrat? or one of the easy lakes in the Calabogie area?
That I am not sure yet. Like I said torut lakes are like gold viens...people will hold them dear to themselves till they die so it would have to be a well known one I think. Suggestions are welcome.

Tax dollars stock lakes....I pay taxes....can I not fish it?
Yes you can fish anything you want and yes you can use a stocking list and GPS. That is the way most of us found these little gems in the woods but what I think is frowned upon is the people who want the answer without doing the formula and research. Hence the reason we need a well known locale or blindfold people when they come
I want to make this fun and friendly but this trout thing is a touchy subject for some. I am expecting backlash and complaints for this but we need to get together as a club, forum whatever and enjoy what we have here. I want this to be a kid friendly event as well so bring the young ones out to try for some trout. My first trip for them was with my dad and some buddies and I was hooked on ice fishing and trout after that. Let's try to make this a fun thing!

What is this trout you speak of
I could be in for this Peter. Like the idea of having it kid friendly.
Before this turns ugly with the whole trout issue, why don`t we set a lake, a date, easy access etc. It stops the naming of lakes, hence stopping the old arguement.
I`d say, Silver Lk because of access, everybody knows it, 2nd week-end in Jan.
cprince has got it right ... no matter what almontefisher picks it will be in someone "back yard" so to speak .. or their fishing hole and will ruffle feathers ... I think thats the point thats trying to be made .. it has to be a well known public lake that most anybody has at least heard of or has fished ... to perhaps lessen the backlash ... the fishermen who use this site are pretty sophisticated (myself excluded) ... so there's no real point in using GPS because someone will post the lake name in a matter of minutes.
besides I don't think thats the real point in what this invite is all about ... it's more to get folks together for fishing and have a few laughs ... and if you get enough lines in the water and you'll get fish ...
I have to admit ... i am only now getting what G2G means ... get together !! Man is that extra 2 years of high school paying off now !!!
