Both outings started very cold and windy. Personally I don't mind the wind, but what does drive me off the wall is having my anchor not catch, and then when it does my friend and I almost get sling shot off the boat.
We decided to get some small mouth for the last few weekends with the boats out. First weekend we got out, caught a few decent sized fish, the one spot we had in mind had a boat already fishing it, so we settled nearby and got a few decent size one's.

We even did a couple hours of running to a few different places in hopes of the other guys calling it a day and being gone when we returned....Well they out fished us, however my friend found this guy in 4 feet of water under a tree.

On the second weekend we went back in hopes of being the first ones to the spot so we could fish where we originally wanted. There was another boat there, but luckily they were right where we were the week before. So we got in the desired spot and fish every foot of it. It started out being frustrating and I lost a bunch of spinner baits. I wasn't too pleased.
But soon after I caught myself a nice pig, he was sitting right on a bunch of rocks eat some crayfish I'm gathering. The great thing about this guy was how his stomach was hard and very full.

Little later I got my lure to sit on bottom where I wanted without the current taking it and after waiting 25-30 seconds I felt this dead weight, hook set and a fun fight from 20 fow. Not as heavy as my previous fish but this thing was a beauty. Both hooks sets were real clean and made a quick & easy cpr.

Seeing how in past years I'd be back into the books by now and far from my boat. Fall bass, is a blast...
