Petrie Ice Conditions

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

I have either drilled holes for folks or lent the auger on the ice when there is an emergency. The only example I have is when some folks arrived at the locks and the guy with the auger hadn't shown up yet.

I would suggest finding a member of FH to meet up with, most guys are looking for a fishin buddy.

And what does this have to do with the current ice conditions?

with a manual auger so cheap it would make sense to pick one up so you are not beholden to others...

while I can never so no, i really dont like people asking to borrow my auger which I won't do, I will go and punch the holes but I always feel a bit used.

emergencies a different matter though.. .. but if you carry the manual for that then you are aways go to go.

if you are prepared then often someone will offer to help out... big difference IMHO.

find a buddy and split on equipment... When I haul my auger, my buddy is responsible for coffee and lunch and vica versa...

Good Luck!

Yeah thanks, I think I will do that and find someone to fish with.
It is my first time so I am not ready to buy an auger, we never know.
In addition even at Canadian tire with sales I didn't find any auger cheaper than a hundred bucks..
tough time after Christmas you know ..
So I will probably create a post to find someone for this saturday.
Thanks again.
