Walk-on ice fishing spots for walters/trout?

This is where it's all going on. One can ask for advice or general information or simply chew the fat about fishing tackle, tips, and locations.

Walk-on ice fishing spots for walters/trout?

Post by Nick_Wa »

Hello everyone, let me first introduce myself. My name is Nick and I am from Northern Ontario (northwest of the uppermost part of Lake Superior) and have been blessed with great fishing on quiet, remote lakes my entire life. I moved here for school and now that I am working full-time, I am hoping to find some similar spots in the Ottawa region.

I don't have a sled here yet so I am looking for somewhere I can drive my 4x4 and walk out on the ice (willing to walk a short ways through the bush) and pop some holes.

I will only be fishing with my girlfriend and/or two of our friends and am very respectful to the environment and all governing laws. I've heard of some nice remote places near Calabogie but no where specific.

Looking for a bit of help please, greatly appreciated!

Welcome.
Most people here are willing to help others but encourage the use of the search function. Search the forum for "stocking" "trout" etc.

Here, this link will be very valuable
